Xavier Descamps graduated as a master engineer in Civil Engineering and Infrastructures, followed by a post-graduate diploma (DESS) in Project Management and Urban Planning from ENSAIS in Strasbourg (now INSA).
He has had a quite comprehensive career at Compagnie des Transports Strasbourgeois (CTS), holding various positions over the last 20 years: from the project management unit in charge of outsourced tramway infrastructure construction, through operations management within a production unit, to the position of Marketing and Innovation Director for the past ten years. His current responsibilities mainly cover the following areas: analysis of the travel market and the public transport network usage (125 million journeys/year), definition of the offer and forecasting of the network development needs, studies and management of the fare range development and finally the development of innovative forms of mobility and services (dynamic zonal ADT, etc.).
