A graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Strasbourg, he was Regional Delegate of the Fonds d’Action Sociale (Public Establishment in charge of the integration of immigrant populations) between 1986 and 1995. Deputy Mayor of Strasbourg in charge of urban planning between 2008 and 2020, he chaired the National Commission “Eco-Quartier” from 2015 to 2020. Since 2010, he has led the National Network of Communities for Participatory Housing. Since July 2020, as Vice-President of the Eurometropole of Strasbourg in charge of mobility, travel and cycling policy, he has been leading the “political priority of the mandate” on mobility, with in particular 3 new tram lines, the Metropolitan Express Railway Network, the development of the bus network, transport on demand and the cycling policy to which the Eurometropole is devoting 100 million Euros.
