Christoph Hessel graduated from RWTH Aachen University, where he qualified as an engineer for transport/rail vehicles and railway systems. He has 23 years of experience in the rail vehicle industry as a systems engineer (overall vehicle system) and technical project manager, a.o. for the ICE 3. Since 2019, he has been working for the VDV in the field of urban railways as a specialist group leader: “Back to the roots” – it all started with trams… He has also been involved in national, European and international standardisation in this field.
