Director Public Affairs
STIB-MIVB Brussels Intermunicipal Transport Company
Brussels (Belgium)
After serving in the world of urban environmental associations in Brussels, and subsequently for 10 years as Director of the Cabinet of the Minister for the Environment, Jean-Michel Mary has been in charge of institutional relations between the STIB, the Brussels public transport operator, and the municipal and regional public authorities since 2004. Director of the Public Affairs department, which reports directly to the General Management, he acts as a facilitator for all STIB projects in relations with the public authorities. In this capacity, he plays an important role in accompanying the development of the extensions of the STIB network for all its modes (bus, tram and metro). The experience of the new tram line 10 in Neder-Over-Heembeek in the north of Brussels is an example of the rapid implementation of a new line carried out in a participatory framework and supported by the local authorities.
