Pekka Saarinen has worked as a designer and project manager in various road and track projects since 2003, working in both Finland and Sweden. Since 2008 he has worked mainly on track projects. The most significant design projects have been e.g. general plan for the high speed line between Espoo-Salo (110 km), superstructure design of the Helsinki metro extensions Ruoholahti-Matinkylä (14 km) and Matinkylä-Kivenlahti (7 km) sections (detail design) as well as the Project Alliances “The Kalasatama-Pasila project” and the “Tampere tramway”. Since 2018 he has also worked as a Section manager for AFRY Finland’s Track Engineering.
